Learning To Die Vibrant And How You Can Benefit From A Holistic Lifestyle

Vibrant means wellness liberation.

Vibrant means taking your health into your own hands.

Vibrant means making choices that feel good on the inside.

To Die Vibrant means that our lives are a longenergeticzestful experience, full of creative endeavours to document and transform our journey through living our truth & helping others. The actions we take daily are what create our lives, which is why continued, practical and inspiring wellness practices are crucial for creating a vibrant life.

How will we die when we reach our final days? And, how will we live our days up until that point? Of course, we don't know, but, we can start right now, today, creating a life full of bright energy & wellness practices that fill us up with ease for (hopefully) the rest of our days.

What I Don't Believe About Health

There is more to life than mediocrity and popping pills for every ailment. We are meant to live vibrantly throughout our lives from the choices we make each and every day that are aligned with who we are from the inside out.

Of course, our bodies degrade over time. This is quite natural as much as leaves crinkle, turn brown and fall from branches.

But, this isn't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about dis-eases that plague the planet at a higher rate than ever. From autoimmune diseases and cancer to Alzheimer's and strokes, we need to learn how to manage our lives from the inside out to prevent these events and dis-eases from manifesting. And, yes, you have a choice.

Our emotions affect our bodies: a Finnish study conducted by Nummenmaa et al in 2013 asked people to draw where they felt different emotions, such as happiness, anxiety, shame, and joy. The findings no doubt show how different emotions and feelings affect our physical body, which is why it's important for us to find practices that invite ease, our inner selves, and wellness practices out to play to produce more positive feelings to positively affect our body.

We are not meant to lose our remaining vibrancy towards the end of our lives due to dis-ease. We are not meant to be nursing home bound, nor relegated to wheelchairs. I simply do not believe dying from cancer and heart dis-ease is the destiny of every human being in modern society. We have choices which help us prevent dis-ease through mindfulness, plant-based nutrition (or, finding a diet that works for you individually), and living our truth.

There is so much power in facing your true self, naturally healing your body, and embracing your wounds, which I cannot stress enough. This blog will teach you how to do just that.

Some Perspective

According to the CDC, the highest death rates are caused by heart disease, cancer and chronic lower respiratory diseases (source), not to mention the rate of child and adult obesity. The CDC notes that around 17% of US children between ages 2 - 19 are obese; 34.9% of adults are obese (source). This is staggering and something we can each make an impact within our own lives by the action we take on a daily basis which impact our inner and outer wellness.

Heart dis-ease, cancer and obesity can be prevented by adopting a plant-based diet, consuming beans, nuts, fruits, veggies and carbs. The American Heart Association agrees that a plant-based diet (they call it vegetarian / vegan, although I prefer not to identify with any label regarding to the way I live) lowers the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and some cancers. Why I've Chosen An Alternative Path

This is why I'm here: to teach you everything I know about natural remedies and holistic living. Our job, you and I, is to synergize our minds, bodies and spirit together in a way that works best for us.

For the last 7 or so years, I've gone from being 20 lbs overweight, high cholesterol, and eating mainly a fried & meat-based diet my freshman and sophomore years in college (mmm, dorm food!) to losing most of the extra weight my junior year through HIIT, sprints & weights, maintaining a normal cholesterol level, and eating a plant-based diet.

Additionally, instead of treating illnesses and infections with antibiotics, I started to treat holistically and naturally through consulting EarthClinic and seeing a naturopath doctor, who helped me see how interconnected my body is and putting me on a course of supplements that I'm still taking to this day.

Throughout the last 7 years, I've been able to thrive by tapping into my physical body with HIIT & yoga while preventing & treating illnesses with daily wellness practices and natural remedies. There is so much power in taking control of our health, instead of relying on a doctor we see once a year to tell us what our body needs. You know better than anyone else will: no one lives as you, no one's experienced life as you have, and no one know what it feels like to walk within your body and mind on a day-to-day basis.

The path to wellness requires personal responsibility to face your past choices to take positive action, today.

In my own life, I've seen people die or invite dis-ease from not being in tune with their body, consuming far too many pharmaceuticals, meat, dairy, cigarettes, and food with no nutritional value. Unfortunately, most of these individuals have either died from the illnesses created from their habits, or live with chronic conditions which, I believe, could be reversed, or at least managed, if they adopted a more mindful lifestyle that takes into account that we are each individuals instead of a simply symptoms to treat and prescriptions to fill.

By the way, the Die Vibrant lifestyle is not about discrediting modern science and modern medicine; however, some of the greatest and most powerful answers to our wellness can be found in the kitchen and within our own hearts & minds if we have the guts to listen.

Some Of The Greatest Tools To Naturally Benefit Our Health

It doesn't cost much (if anything at all!) to start trying out what tools & practices work for you and your health. Here are some ideas to jumpstart your mind, including links with free resources:

  • Nourish your body by consuming whole foods: the foods you eat should be in their most natural state. No artificial. Nothing that's been created in a lab.
  • Curate your media consumption & cleanse your mind by reducing your attention to mainstream media.
  • Use essential oils instead of ibuprofen for menstrual cramps.
  • Take daily walks around your block, or head to a local park instead.
  • Dedicate 12 minutes to HIIT a couple times a week.
  • Find what feels good by practicing yoga with Adriene for free at home.
  • Meditate with Calm once a day. Install it to your phone, so you can do it wherever.
  • Visualize the body and lifestyle you want to live in the morning for 5 or 10 minutes.
  • Engage in mindfulness-based therapy if you have some things you want to work out
  • Embrace daily journaling, writing, or gratitude journaling. Anything that brings you closer to yourself.
  • Peruse Earth Clinic for natural remedies, mostly stemming from our kitchens.

A perfect example of the Die Vibrant lifestyle

You may have heard of Tao Porchon-Lynch. At 96, she is claimed to be the 'oldest' practicing yoga master in the world. When I write about dying vibrant, in my vision is a woman such as Tao: an individual who looks at the world with her whole self. She sees her life not in terms of years, but in energy and refuses to think about what can go wrong.

Instead, she lives in the present.

In this video, hear Tao talk about how she's maintained her health and vibrancy over the years.

With so many individuals around the world plagued with cancer and heart dis-ease, it's so beautiful to see someone who's aged so gracefully and vibrantly. It gives me hope and a vision to reach for.

How can I benefit from the Die Vibrant mindset & lifestyle?

The Die Vibrant lifestyle helps you:

  • save money
  • tap into your body
  • increase your immunity
  • increase your life energy
  • increase your intuitive skills
  • improve you & your family's well-being

  • learn how to think critically about the current healthcare system & your place in it
  • open you up to multiple different modalities of wellness, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, to explore and synergize the practices that work best for you

It's a beautiful path to wellness that opens your mind, body and soul up to the true you. When you feel healthy, everything else in life flows more smoothly, too. It's all about ease, baby!

What's next?

This blog is a jumping off point for my professional path into nutrition and holistic health. I'll be pursuing a certification in holistic nutrition, so I can coach natural healers and truth seekers one-on-one on how to live mindfully and liberate their own path to wellness through a plant-based lifestyle. While I pursue the certification, I'll be writing what I learn on the blog in collaboration with my independently researched remedies and holistic & nutritional information that I've used throughout the last 7 years on my path to wellness.

I'll be using this as a platform to spread my message about how to Die Vibrant and how we can learn to cultivate our own wellness liberation - starting today. This platform is also a dedication to my own education towards awareness, wellness and cultivating a plant-based, whole food lifestyle that works for my body. I hope you will join!

My Hope

We inherently own the power within us to heal ourselves and there is always an opportunity to show ourselves love, self-care, and doing what's right for our bodies and our true selves. My hope for all of us here is that we learn something new every day about our bodies, take initiative for our well-being as often as possible, and move past disappointing experiences with the current healthcare system.

Finally, and most importantly, my hope is that we learn how to create a healthy lifestyle that supports our vibrancy, energy, and desire so that we can live fulfilled and happy lives.

Until the very end.
